I'm Jake, I like to make cool stuff!

About me...

I study Entertainment Arts at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. I love telling stories through 3d, doing things I can't in the real world.

Jake's 3d Art

I also love making stuff in 3d. Here are some of the projects I'm proudest of!

Stories make the world go round.

Let's work together to make something cool!

I'd love to work with you! Please reach out to me however you'd like.

Data Integrity

A retro-futuristic environment i made in 3d: Maya, Substance Painter, Designer, and Unreal.

About Data Integrity...

Long after the apocalypse, the last bastion of humanity survives. Using old and battered, but resilient, hard drives, humans store every scrap of information about how these machines work.
They're working hard to reverse engineer these deadly robots.
Using data collected from downed and salvaged drones, their research is going well. They're on the precipice of a breakthrough when something attacks, causing a chain of events that corrupts their data. Sparks fly, drives squeal, and chaos ensues.
The hard drives still spin, but they’re corrupted. They store useless and convoluted binary. They have to start again.

I had a blast (pun intended) working on this project! I absolutely love storytelling and cool environments, and I made both!
In this project, I wanted to focus on:
- Environmental Storytelling
- Optimization
- Doing cool stuff like Niagara FX and decaling
A big shout-out to everyone who helped me refine this piece, and I hope you enjoy viewing this as much as I did working on it!

R.O.H.D.I.E. Robo Roller

A hard surface robot character I made in 3d.

R.O.H.D.I.E. is super cool!!

This is my most recent project, the A.D.O.R.O. R.O.H.D.I.E. (Remotely Operated Hazard and Dangerous Item Extractor) I had a blast working on this guy. I learned so much about the industry pipeline, and I'm super excited to use it to create more cool stuff in the future!Initial concept by Joe Comeau.

The Righteous' Revolver

A revolver I made in Maya, Embergen and Unreal.

I love the Wild West!!

Colby Hendon is one of the most notorious gunslingers in Arizona. With a “shoot first, ask questions later” mentality, Colby is the most deadly member of his posse.
When Colby was young, his father was shot and killed in his arms by an anarchist, Riley O’Neal. From that moment onwards, he swore that he would stop at nothing to find O’Neal, destroy him, and deliver a destiny of rule.
Colby believes that he is righteous. He honestly thinks that he must do whatever is necessary - no matter how evil or chaotic - to uphold order in the West.
He stops at nothing. Every enemy he duels, every town he burns to ashes, every train he robbed, he believed he was justified. He never was.
Colby's belief in his fulfillment of rule led him to a cycle of violence that corrupted, deluded him and brought everything around him crumbling to the ground. Colby’s “once friends” return to kill him, because it is what’s right.

Some of my favorite games, movies, and stories are set in the West. They involve rambunctious cowboys with even crazier shootouts and duels.
Inspired by these works, I recently made this revolver in 3d. I made the model in Maya, simulated the muzzle flash in Embergen, and rendered it all in Unreal.
I had a lot of fun with this project and trying new things. I hope you enjoy this gallery!
